Our collective memories of childhood often embody freedom, joy, and an escape from the burdens of adulthood. Inspired by my granddaughters, this image evokes the sensation of drifting into a vast horizon of carefree possibility.

The painting is bathed in bright sunlight, with vibrant complementary color relationships—yellows and purples, oranges and blues—infusing the work with energy and warmth. In completing this piece, both the composition and the handling of the brushwork recall my earlier experience as an illustrator in the early 1990s.
