The subject of this painting comes from a marketplace in Nijmegin Netherlands. The vibrant colors of the buildings set against the dutch sky were the inspiration for this image. The play of bright light reflecting onto the shadows of the building and the reflection from the cobble stones are a poignant feature of this piece.
