This bookmark, derived from my watercolor painting, Right Hand, 2025, features a hand study from Michelangelo’s David (1501–1504). It reflects the Renaissance ideal of the human figure as the measure of all things—celebrating both physical perfection and intellect as expressions of the divine.

Inspired by Michelangelo’s belief that sculpture reveals the ideal form within the marble, I sought to recreate that sense of idealized anatomy through paint. The study focuses on proportion, structure, and the use of light and shadow to create volume in the hand, torso, and leg. A simplified, flat background contrasts with the dimensionality of the figure, emphasizing its sculptural presence.
