This subject for this painting is a small wooden mannequin commonly used by art students learning anatomical proportions to depicting body gestures and posture. I have a couple of these in my studio at home that I used in art school. Basic pose was a quick and fun painting project. There was no creative theory behind the finished image. The subject is playful in it’s pose with raw brush strokes in the background echoing the implied movement of the mannequin.
