My wife and I are currently traveling through Europe. We’ve visited friends and family in the Netherlands and traveled through Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Beyond visiting cities and Art Museums, I have managed to do some painting while here. I get a lot of inspiration in Europe with all the history and the different art scenes that we experience. My name is Brent Palmer, and I am an artist based in Centerville, Utah. I graduated from the University of Utah's School of Fine Arts in 1991, where I studied painting and drawing. Having lived in Utah for most of my life, I've been fortunate to explore nearly every corner of this remarkable state. Outside the studio, I enjoy rock climbing, canyoneering, skiing, and kayaking. Each year, I also spend time in Moab and in the Netherlands visiting family.
My paintings are inspired by the places I travel, the people I meet, and the quiet moments that shape my perspective. Painting is both a creative pursuit and an intellectual one—a way to explore theme, composition, the science of light, and personal reflection.
