Our collective memories of childhood embody freedom, fun and escape from the adult world of worry. This image, inspired by my granddaughter’s, illustrates the feeling’s place of floating into a vast horizon of carefree possibilities.The atmosphere in this painting is washed in bright sunlight and carries notes of complimentary yellow / purple and orange and blue colors, maintain a vibrant hue in the work. On completing this painting, the compostion and the execution of the strokes reminded me of work that I had done as an illustrator in the early 1990’s. The subject matter has mass appeal and is very soft in it’s presentation to the viewer.
