The subject is reminiscent of of the French impressionist painter Edward Degas series depicting Ballet dancers. My emphasis was in creating volume using light and color hues. I am pleased with the atmosphere and the mood created by the dark background and the light highlighting the dancers pause to readjust her left shoe.
